Chemigrams are made with photosensitive paper and a variety of resists (substances of varying texture, composition, and viscosity) which can be applied to the paper like a paint. The paper is then submerged in a series of photochemical baths, cycled through the stages of development as the resists wash away and the paper beneath is exposed to light. The colors deepen until they are fixed (washed with a solution that stops the development). These images are a sample of a larger collection of 96 chemigrams.
